Youth Education

Overview

Beth El offers classes on site for students from Pre-K through seventh grade, preparing them to live engaged Jewish lives. For older students, we collaborate with other area synagogues to support the Community Midrasha, which provides in-depth programming for Jewish teens in the Durham-Chapel Hill area.

Get involved

Beth El’s youth education programs always need members who want to get involved! If you’d like to volunteer, serve on the Va’ad HaChinuch (the Beth El education council), or help fundraise, please contact Education and Youth Director, Alexandra Bicks or Va’ad HaChinuch chair, Adam Singer.

You can also support our education programming by linking your Harris Teeter VIC Card to benefit the Talmud Torah.

Here’s how:

Visit the Harris Teeter website or, the next time you’re at Harris Teeter, simply tell your cashier during check-out that you want Beth El’s account number, 5883 , linked to your Harris Teeter VIC card.  Once the account number is linked, every time you shop during the school year, 2% of your Private Label purchases will be contributed to the Beth El Talmud Torah. You need to re-link your card every academic year.
