Community of Caring

2012-12-01-crockpot-matzo-586x322The Community of Caring Committee is there for you when you need help. Our volunteers help provide meals for the bereaved, ill or new parents in our community; bring community members to Beth El for services and help out those in need in a variety of ways.

Want to help make a difference or in need of assistance from the committee? Contact caring@betheldurham.org.

Knitting Chavurah

Gladys Siegel, member of the Beth El Knitting Chavurah presented a shomrin blanket to Shula Bernard, for the Chevrah Kaddisha on November 20, 2022, together with several members involved. This blanket will be available at the funeral home for the shomer who needs to keep warm during the watch.

Present in the picture on the right are, from left to right, in front, Shula Bernard (also involved in knitting), Gladys Siegel, in back, Lois Ryen, Edy Parker, Hunter Levinsohn, Andree Allen, and Sharon Halperin.   Other knitters of the blanket who could not be with us include Sabina Sager, Sue Slatkoff, and Lois Sobel.
Following a pandemic break, our group is meeting on the second Sunday of each month at 10:00 am in Classroom # 8 at Beth El during the school year. Anyone interested in knitting is welcome.
For further information, please contact Andree Allen at andreemallen@gmail.com.
