The Purim Shpiel

February 6, 2017 by bethel Leave a Comment

It’s time to read the magilla and we just can’t wait
Nearly three thousand years ago persecution started, Wait!
The Persians were so cruel
Ahasuerus began to role
We drink wine, we eat hamantaschens
Esther, Mordecai, history, Jews no longer in misery
Haman ended in a big bang!
Beth El come get your nerd on– Purim begins Saturday evening, March 11!
This year our theme is The Big Bang Theory! We have a ton of roles to fill!
Esther (Bernadette)
King Achashverosh (Howard)
Mordechai (Leonard)
Haman (Sheldon)
Vashti (Penny)
Zeresh (Amy)
King’s Advisor (Raj)
King’s Advisor (Stuart)
Haman’s Assistant (Barry Kripke)
Guard 1 (Howard’s Mother, Debbie)
Guard 2 (Sheldon’s Mother, Mary)
Click here to register for a role in the shpiel. Contact Margueritte Cox with questions.

The Ritual Committee is seeking dynamic readers for the Megillah reading (think funny voices, gags, etc.!) –contact Jeff Derby.
You don’t have to read a whole chapter, just let Jeff know which verses and if you are going to read evening or morning, or both.

The tentative rehearsal dates are:
Monday, February 27 @ 5:30-7:00 pm
Wednesday, March 1 @ 6:30-8:00 pm
Sunday, March 5 @ 1:00-2:30 pm
Thursday, March 9 @ 6:00-7:30 pm (if needed)
(You don’t have to come to every rehearsal. Please fill out this Doodle poll  to let us know your availability. )
