Mitzvah Day 2017

November 29, 2017 by bethel Leave a Comment

Mitzvah Project 2017: Beth El Supports Families Moving Forward

Families Moving Forward, which combined two previous organizations, Genesis Home and Durham Interfaith Hospitality Network, offers a temporary home to families with children in the crisis of homelessness.  They create a path to stability, self-sufficiency, and permanent housing through personalized services and ongoing community support.

Last Mitzvah Day we did a sports equipment drive for them, as they requested. This year we’re going to use their Amazon Wish List to help families acquire basic living necessities. https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/?ie=UTF8&cid=A1KOHWM7O1FZX7  The information in parentheses is for purchases from Amazon, but most of these basic items are widely available. There will be a bin in Beth El’s lobby to collect these items. We will deliver them to FMF on Dec. 28th.
