What is Life & Legacy?
Beth El Synagogue is a proud partner of Life & Legacy, a 4-year partnership program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) that assists communities across North America, through partnerships with Jewish Federations and Foundations, to promote after-lifetime giving to benefit Jewish day schools, synagogues, social service organizations and other Jewish entities.
Through training, support and monetary incentives, Life & Legacy motivates Jewish organizations to secure legacy gifts, steward donors and integrate legacy giving into the philanthropic culture of the Jewish community.
Why?
Through Life & Legacy, HGF aims to motivate Jewish communities to become proactive in encouraging widespread legacy giving in order to sustain the future of their organizations. The program is founded on the principle that all of us, regardless of age, wealth, or affiliation, can make an enduring impact. You can make an impact on sustaining the Beth El community for many years to come.
Community Involvement
A highlight of the program is the unrestricted incentive grant the Jewish Federation of Durham Chapel Hill will award all participating organizations based on meeting legacy commitment benchmarks. This community program includes not just Beth El Synagogue, but also:
Judea Reform Congregation Jewish Federation of Durham Chapel Hill
Kehillah Synagogue Sandra E. Lerner Jewish Community Day School
Temple Beth Or
How can I get involved?
Life & Legacy Gifts can be established through many paths: bequests or wills; donor advised funds; life insurance; gift of real estate, securities, or other property; retirement plan assets; charitable remainder trusts; and gift annuities. We do not ask you to give money now.
