The Reverend Dr. Jay Augustine serves as senior pastor of St. Joseph AME Church and as a member of the inaugural faculty at the Hampton University School of Religion. An interdisciplinary scholar trained in law, theology, and higher education administration, he is the author of numerous books and professional articles addressing civil rights and America's social polarity.

After reading the relevant portions of the Exodus narrative, (6:2-9:35), the topic will be, "God is Still God!" The sermon will connect the Jewish and African American communities by drawing parallels between their common experiences, while noting that the same God who promised and delivered against Pharoah, in Exodus, is the same God who will again deliver against "Pharoah-like" structures in America.
