The Chavurah Minyan is a lay-led, participatory, liturgically complete service that meets in the tent and is open to all. It features lots of spirited singing and new melodies, as well as divrei Torah given by members of the community.

The Reverend Dr. Jay Augustine serves as senior pastor of St. Joseph AME Church and as a member of the inaugural faculty at the Hampton University School of Religion. An interdisciplinary scholar trained in law, theology, and higher education administration, he is the author of numerous books and professional articles addressing civil rights and America's social polarity.
