The Durham Orthodox Kehillah is a warm and welcoming Orthodox congregation serving the Durham-Chapel Hill Jewish community. The Durham Orthodox community welcomes all residents, students and visitors regardless of degree of observance. The Orthodox congregation has been a member of the Orthodox Union since 1982.
The Kehillah sanctuary maintains a varied selection of siddurim and chumashim for services, as well as a modest library of reference books. Prayer shawls are also available.
Shabbat services begin at 9:00 am on Saturdays on the lower level of Beth El Synagogue (1004 Watts Street), followed by a kiddush. We also regularly hold Friday night services. For an updated list of services and other events, please visit our calendar.
