Join the Beth El Sisterhood for a Sisterhood-led Kabbalat Shabbat service with a Dvar Torah delivered by Sabina Sager. Services will be followed by a delicious dessert Oneg Shabbat in the Social Hall.
Due to low registration the dinner portion of the evening has been canceled but we look forward to welcoming in Shabbat with you and enjoying dessert after services.

Sabina Sager arrived in Durham, NC, in 1978 when she assumed the role of rabbi’s wife. She has been a long-time Sisterhood member and has participated in many aspects of synagogue life. She has been active in the Durham-Chapel Hill Jewish community and served on the boards of Beth El Toddler Time, Community Midrasha, and the Lerner Jewish Day School. She is currently on the Capital Campaign Committee, supporting the long-anticipated renovation of the building in which her children grew up.
Sabina is the Administrative Director of Sicha, an educational organization whose leadership she shares with Rabbi Sager. She holds a master’s degree in Mathematics Education. She served as a financial administrator and grant manager at Duke University for 18 years and has taught Mathematics in high schools and community colleges, as well as serving as a private tutor to all ages.
Sabina enjoys reading, doing Sudoku, and visiting her grandchildren (4 in Israel and one in sunny Florida).
